ABOUT​

Shu Chen is a portrait photographer with a BFA in photography from Columbus College of Art & Design.  His style is a combination of Asian aesthetics and Western teachings shown through his portraits of female subjects and their emotions. He hopes that in 50 years when people become robotic and can no longer feel or are immune to emotions that his works can be referenced.

 

Some photographers he admires are Ren Hang, Chen Man, Richard Avedon, Yasumasa Yonehara,Nobuyoshi Araki, Zhang Jingna, Akif Hakan Celebi, Hannes Caspar, and Madam Peripetie. Other artists include Claude Monet, Robert Rauschenberg, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ai WeiWei, and Pipilotti Rist.
